Ukraine to play next game with partially closed stadium after fans racist abuse against England a

UEFA has confirmed that Ukraine will play their next game at a partially closed stadium and pay a fine after their fans were found guilty of racist abuse during games against England and Italy in September.

The incidents happened during Ukraine’s 1-1 draw with England on September 9 and their 2-1 defeat by Italy three days later.

Their next home match, a Euro 2024 qualifier against Italy on November 20, will be played at a partially closed stadium.

The Ukrainian FA will also pay a £13,000 ($15,800) fine and has been banned from selling tickets to away supporters for one match.

Ukraine recorded an important 2-0 victory over North Macedonia earlier this week to keep their Euro 2024 qualification hopes alive.

Victory for Italy in their penultimate group game against North Macedonia will move them level on points with Ukraine in second and see their bid to qualify for Euro 2024 go down to the pair’s final group game.
